'No Bale, no party' - Tottenham fans react as Jose Mourinho names starting XI to face West Ham

Tottenham fans have been reacting to Jose Mourinho's starting XI to face West Ham United this afternoon.

Gareth Bale has been left on the bench for the first game he has been available for since his Spurs return, now fit to play.

And he could well feature from the bench, included in a Tottenham matchday squad for the first time in seven years.

Elsewhere, Steven Bergwijn has been handed his first start of the season and Dele Alli and Erik Lamela both miss out on not just the starting XI but the whole squad.

Serge Aurier does make the cut, picked to start at right-back ahead of Matt Doherty having impressed against Man United before the international break.

Mourinho has stuck with the same midfield, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Tanguy Ndombele and Moussa Sissoko all starting.

Here's what Tottenham fans have had to say about Mourinho's selections.

New striker Carlos Vinicius is also involved this afternoon, starting from the bench, while Giovani Lo Celso, Eric Dier and Japhet Tanganga all miss out through injury.

Here is the full Spurs team to face West Ham for the 4.30pm kick-off: Lloris; Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Reguilon; Sissoko, Hojbjerg, Ndombele; Bergwijn, Kane, Son.

Subs: Hart, Doherty, Davies, Winks, Bale, Lucas, Vinicius.
