No arrests following three-car crash and 'altercation' after reports of 'males with baseball bats' in Stockport

No arrests have been made by police after an ‘altercation’ following a three-car collision in Stockport.

Police were called to Hallam Street at 6pm yesterday (Monday, September 6) to a report of 'males with baseball bats' spotted near to the Premier Inn hotel on nearby Buxton Road, a spokesperson for the force said at the time.

They went on: “There is currently [an] investigation ongoing into this report, with three vehicles being seized.

"At this moment in time it is unknown if anyone has suffered any injuries."

Now, a new statement from Greater Manchester Police has confirmed that no arrests have been made in the time since.

“At around 6pm on Monday, September 6 2021, police were called to reports of a disturbance on Hallam Street in Cale Green,” the statement said.

“Enquiries have established that three cars collided before the occupants engaged in an altercation before making off from the scene.

“No injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made.”

The incident resulted in a police cordon being erected around the abandoned vehicles.

Photos from the scene show two damaged cars — with one so badly deformed its wheel had fallen off.
