No arrests after teen's death in NT town

Detectives and forensic officers remain in the East Arnhem region town as police investigate. (AAP)

No arrests have been made after a teenager was fatally stabbed and three other men seriously injured in an incident involving up to 100 people at Yirrkala in the Northern Territory.

Detectives and forensic officers remain in the East Arnhem region town as police investigate a number of crime scenes relating to the stabbings on Wednesday.

"The number one priority for us is obviously investigating the incident as a whole, and maintaining security and the safety of the community," Assistant Commissioner Michael White said on Thursday.

He said the response from the community has been "one of calm" following the 16-year-old's death.

"I understand there was some tension prior to the incident yesterday but that will all form part of the investigation," he said.

The teenager was stabbed and three men - aged 18, 40 and 45 - were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening stab wounds, police said on Wednesday.

Two are in a stable condition while the third is serious but stable.
