NO arrests have been made after disorder broke out at an anti-immigration protest in East Kilbride.
Protesters gathered outside the Bruce Hotel in the Cornwall Street area of the town on Tuesday evening.
A group of individuals were seen wrapped in Union Jack flags and Saltires, while a number wore balaclavas, as they headed towards the entrance of the hotel where police could be seen watching on.
The hotel has been the site of anti-immigration protests in the past , with one taking place last month just days after violent racist disorder broke out in Glasgow city centre.
Video footage shared on social media shows a protester jumping out of the way as a taxi vehicle appears to drive towards the crowd at increasing speed.
Police Scotland have confirmed to The National that no arrests have been made in connection with the disorder.
In a statement shared on social media, East Kilbride and Strathaven MP Joani Reid – who resigned the Labour whip in March after her husband was arrested on suspicion of spying for China – said "the scenes in East Kilbride last night were disgraceful".
She said: "There is no excuse for masked intimidation or for people pretending to protest when they are really just looking for a fight.

"It frightens local people and it shames our town."
Reid added: "Most of us in East Kilbride want the same simple thing: to get on with our lives and feel safe in our own streets.
"I will continue to talk to the police and other services about how we can keep people safe and our streets clear of those only out to cause trouble."
