This has not been a good off-season for the Georgia Bulldogs. With potential suspensions mounting up, Kirby Smart needs to right the ship and do his best to get his team on board. Today, LBs Robert Beal and Brenton Cox were both arrested per Seth Emerson:
The misdemeanor arrest isn’t the end of the world, but the timing of it is concerning considering it is the middle of spring practice. Both Cox and Beal are expected to be key contributors to the Bulldogs’ pass rush in 2019. Ultimately, their decision hurts the team.
Joining Cox and Beal are joining a long list: DB Latavious Brini, LB Jaden Hunter, DB Tyrique Stevenson, and WR Tyler Simmons who have each been arrested this off-season.
Before the Cox and Beal arrests, Kirby Smart issued a statement on the most recent transgression, which involved Simmons and Stevenson:
Coach Smart has to be furious the off the field issues his team has snowballed.
