No active case in 11 Madhya Pradesh districts; cure rate 98.8%

BHOPAL: The Covid recovery rate in Madhya Pradesh has risen close to 99% (98.8%), and 11 districts are now Covid-free as there is not a single active case.

On May 1, recovery rate stood at 83.6% but rapidly improved in June as cases dropped to the lowest figures in a year. On July 2, there were only 514 active cases, the lowest among the top 26 states in cumulative Covid count. The closest to MP among states with 7-lakh-plus cases is Delhi (1,041).

Ujjain, once one of the worst hit, is among the districts with zero active patients now. As many as , 24 other districts have five active cases or less each.

While recovery rate of Covid-19 in the state has improved and reached close to 99% (98.79), there are at least 11 districts which are now Covid-19 free and have not even a single active case.

Till July 1, 780330 people have recovered from the disease and cumulatively till then 789844 people have tested positive in the state, thus overall 98.79% of people have recovered from the disease. Two months ago on May 1, this recovery rate was only 83.63 as till May 1, 481477 people had recovered from the disease and 575706 had cumulatively tested positive till then.

Thus in past two months, the recovery rate from the disease has improved by around 16%. And as on July 1, there were only 533 active Covid-19 patients in the state.

Of the 52 districts, 11 districts namely Ujjain, Katni, Sidhi,Dewas, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Umaria, Mandla, Khandwa, Ashok Nagar and Burhanpur had not even a single active patient.

And another 18 districts of the state had less than 5 active cases. Another six had only 5 active patients.

Thus of the overall 533 active patients, it were Indore and Bhopal that together had 219 active patients.

Sources said that condition is definitely improving and with little precaution and intensified vaccination, any other surge in cases or peak, could be averted, but it needs to be ensured that appropriate covid behaviour is adopted, i.e., masks are used, social distancing is maintained and hand hygiene is also taken care of.

Even in cases of other new variants like delta plus variant, masks are equally effective as they restrict the entry of virus into the body, be it any kind of virus, alpha, beta, delta or delta plus, added sources.
