SOUTH BEND, Ind. _ Running back Josh Adams rushed for 191 yards and three touchdowns as No. 13 Notre Dame crushed No. 11 USC, 49-14, Saturday.
Notre Dame quarterback Brandon Wimbush accounted for four touchdowns as the Irish cruised in what was essentially a College Football Playoff elimination game.
Notre Dame (6-1) made quick work of the Trojans (6-2), taking a commanding 28-0 lead at halftime.
Wimbush had two touchdown passes and rushed for two touchdowns. He finished with 120 passing yards and 106 rushing yards. The redshirt sophomore missed Notre Dame's last game on Oct. 7 at North Carolina because of a foot injury.

Adams scored on a 3-yard run in the second quarter to help the Irish build their 28-0 halftime lead. Adams scored on runs of 84 and 14 yards in the second half.
The 49 points were the most for the Irish against USC since a 49-19 victory against the Trojans in 1977.
