Nnamdi Ofoborh seals Rangers move as Steven Gerrard signs midfielder on four-year deal

Rangers have completed the pre-contract signing of Nnamdi Ofoborh from Bournemouth.

The midfielder will join Cherries pal Jack Simpson at the club after the centre back moved to Ibrox on deadline day.

Ofoborh turned down a new deal at Bournemouth and Rangers will have to pay compensation for him after he signed a four-year deal.

He’ll spend the next few months on loan at Wycombe in the Championship and Ross Wilson admits he’s delighted that happened before he joins up with Steven Gerrard's side in the summer.

The 21-year-old made 25 appearances for Gareth Ainsworth’s side last season as they earned promotion from League One.

And Wilson told the official Rangers website: “We look forward to welcoming Nnamdi to our group in the summer. We are extremely impressed by his qualities and he is a player that has real progression in him.

“He has a positive and determined personality and is very much looking forward to becoming a Rangers player at the end of this season.

“In the meantime we are really pleased that Nnamdi will play week in week out until the end of the season in the Championship at Wycombe, a club he excelled at previously under Gareth Ainsworth.”
