New Rangers man Nnamdi Ofoborh insists he will be back after his career was put on hold followings scans revealing an issue with his heart.
The 21-year-old moved to Ibrox on a free transfer from Bournemouth this summer but hasn't featured in any of the pre-season friendlies.
Manager Steven Gerrard confirmed following the fixture with Arsenal that he will not be involved in the squad in the short term after an ECG flagged up "a bit of a red flag."
The Rangers midfielder has now taken to social media to address his absence for the first time.
He posted to Instagram with an image alongside Gerrard: "God has a purpose for your pain, a reason for your struggles and a reward for your faithfulness.
"God is the only reason i’ve made it this far. I will be back."
The youngster earned a dream move to the Premiership champions in January on a pre-contract.
He spent the second half of the season on loan but will have to wait for a while to make his Rangers bow.
