NL Leisure will start charging gym users who miss classes after 'no shows'

NL Leisure will start charging Wishaw residents who miss classes after several no shows since they restarted gym classes.

The £2 charge for every class comes into force from Monday following a large number of cancellations over the past few weeks.

In a statement on social media, NL Leisure stated: “We have continued to see a large number of class no shows.

“We will be trialling an email system that will automatically email you if you have missed a class.

“Upon successful completion of this trial we will then be introducing a £2 charge for any no shows from Monday, October 5.

“This charge is being introduced as a last resort to combat this persistent issue and to make the booking and access of classes as fair as possible for everyone.”

NL Leisure also confirmed that the Learn to Swim programme will also return from Monday with Wishaw Sports Centre being one of three venues starting back.

A spokesperson added: “We are hopeful to have an update on the other venues in due course once we have more information regarding their reopenings.

“As we approach the launch of the Learn to Swim programme we would encourage all users to look over our pool user guide and review the new procedures we have put in place to keep you safe on your return to the venue.

“We have also added in frequently asked questions which will provide you with an idea of some of the changes you can expect and also answer some of the concerns you may have regarding your child’s return to swimming.”
