Nitish Kumar to kick-start his campaign for Bihar assembly by-polls from October 25

PATNA: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar will start his election campaign for the assembly by-polls on Monday by addressing two rallies, one each in Kusheshwar Asthan and Tarapur constituencies, which are going to voting on October 30.

By-election in Kusheshwar Asthan and Tarapur were necessitated following the untimely death of the JD(U)’s sitting MLAs Shashibhushan Hajari and Mewalal Choudhary, respectively.

JD(U) fielded Hajari’s son Aman Bhushna Hajari as its candidate from Kusheshwar Asthan and Rajiv Kumar Singh from Tarapur.

"CM Nitish Kumar will address his maiden election rally for the current by-election at a sports ground at Dhabauliya village under Kusheshwar Purvi block at around 11.45 am on October 25 to seek votes in favour of the NDA-supported JD(U) candidate Aman Bhushan Hajari," JD(U) state vice-president (headquarters) Navin Kumar Arya Chandravanshi told TOI on Saturday.

Chandravanshi said senior NDA leaders namely Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party’s (RLJP) national president and Union minister Pashupati Kumar Paras, BJP state president and Bettiah MP Sanjay Kumar Jaiswal and state’s education minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary also would accompany the CM and they all address the election rally in Kusheshwar Asthan to seek votes in favour of the JD(U) nominee.

After Kusheshwar Asthan, the CM and all these NDA leaders would address another election rally at Idgah Maidan near Gazipur village under Tarapur constituency around 1.45pm on October 25 to seek votes in favour of the JD(U) candidate Rajiv Kumar Singh.

To a question, Chandravanshi said Nitish would address two more election rallies, one in each constituency, on October 26. “The itinerary of October 26 rallies is yet to be finalized," he said.
