Nissan Ireland issues voluntary recall of five car models over child lock fault

Nissan Ireland has issued a voluntary recall of five car models due to a possible fault with the child lock on rear doors.

The notice affects Nissan Pulsar, Navara NP300, Note, Juke and Qashqai cars.

The company said that the affected vehicles were produced between September 28, 2015 and March 14, 2018.

In a statement, Nissan Ireland said the "child lock on the rear doors could be faulty and it might be possible to open the door even when the child lock is activated".

The car company said it would be writing to affected car owners to arrange an inspection of the child lock mechanism.

Customers can check if their vehicle is involved in the recall by contacting their local Nissan dealer or authorised repairer.

Customers can also contact Nissan Ireland Customer Relations on 1850 302 302 or email  customer.service@nissan.ie.
