It comes as Spencer Elden, who was famously depicted on Nirvana’s Nevermind album cover when he was a baby, has launched a lawsuit suing Kurt Cobain’s estate alleging child pornography and sexual exploitation.
The album cover shows Elden in a swimming pool reaching for a dollar bill, with his genitalia exposed.
Now the band are set to release super deluxe editions of the album in November; it made history as one of the best-selling albums of all time when it was released on September 24 in 1991.
Mr Elden’s lawyer Maggie Mabie responded by telling TMZ she has asked Universal to censor the image of her client’s privates.
The legal brain explained the Nirvana baby must brace himself every year for renewed unwanted attention around the anniversary of the album.
She said: “It is time to end this child exploitation and violation of privacy.”
Nevermind sold 30million copies across the globe.
It was famous for its hits Smells Like Teen Spirit and Come As You Are.
In the new lawsuit, Mr Elden has claimed he “has suffered and will continue to suffer lifelong damages” as a result.
He seeks either $150,000 from each of the 15 defendants or unspecified damages to be determined at trial.
