Nir Bitton signs new Celtic deal as Hoops utility man commits until 2023

Nir Bitton has agreed a new three-and-a-half year contract with Celtic .

The Israeli utility man is now tied to the club until 2023, putting him on course for a decade of service at Parkhead.

Neil Lennon signed Bitton in August 2013 and the manager has again utilised his versatility since returning to the club earlier this year.

Bitton battled back from a serious cruciate injury to re-take his place in the squad and that has now been rewarded with an extended deal.

The 28-year-old has made 21 appearances this season across midfield and defence.

He admitted last week he was desperate to renew terms with club, with his family now settled in Scotland.

He said: "I love this club and I want to stay."

Bitton was won six Premiership titles, five League Cups and three Scottish Cups during his stint in Glasgow.

He's made 202 appearances in total, scoring 11 goals.
