Nir Bitton offers Celtic team-mate apology before having a social media change of heart

Beaming Nir Bitton delivered a playful social media pop aimed at Celtic team-mate Moritz Bauer before having a change of heart.

The Israeli international, fresh off a return to first-team action after a five-week absence, left his Hoops pal red-faced during a session at Lennoxtown on Monday.

Bauer , who can speak five languages, was reduced to cursing his luck after Bitton produced a cheeky drag back nutmeg during the session that was captured by the club's aerial camera.

The 27-year-old midfielder was enjoying himself at the club's training base just days after a furious bust-up with Ross County striker Brian Graham at the final whistle of Saturday's 6-0 rout over the Staggies.

He uploaded the clip on Instagram with the caption, "Sorry brother Moritz Bauer but I had to post it".

But Bitton has now removed the cheeky clip for his social media page.

The pair are in contention to face Lazio in the Europa League on Thursday night with Celtic aiming to leave the Serie A giants reeling.

Neil Lennon's side know a victory will open up a four-point gap between themselves and Simone Inzaghi's side in Group E as the Hoops look to guarantee European football after Christmas for a third consecutive season.
