Nir Bitton could join Celtic exodus as Hapoel Be'er Sheva 'line up' summer transfer

Celtic star Nir Bitton could join the list of the players set to quit the club this summer with Hapoel Be'er Sheva hoping to sign him, according to a report.

The versatile Israeli has struggled for game time this season with Stephen Welsh and Kris Ajer the preferred options in the second half of the season.

And reports in his homeland suggest Be'er Sheva want to take him as part of a summer rebuild that sees them want to sign Ofir Marciano from Hibs too.

They say they will make an approach for him soon and hope to convince him that returning to Israel is the best thing for his career.

Bitton has another two years left on his deal at Celtic Park after signing a four-year deal in 2019 and has made 21 appearances for the Hoops this season.

He's scored one goal - in a 2-2 draw with Livingston - and was sent off against Rangers at Ibrox on January.

Celtic face a summer of rebuild with a number of players expected to quit the club this summer.

Ryan Christie is expected to head to England while Ajer and Odsonne Edouard are also tipped to leave.

A new manager will also need to replace the four loan players who will leave, with Shane Duffy, Jonjoe Kenny, Diego Laxalt and Moi Elyounoussi ending their spells in Glasgow.
