Nipsey Hussle dead: Rapper, 33, dies after being shot outside LA clothes store

Rap star Nipsey Hussle has been shot dead, it has been confirmed.

The Grammy-nominated star was killed in a shooting outside the clothing store her owned in Los Angeles.

It is claimed three people were shot at the Marathon Store in LA's Hyde Park neighborhood.

Eyewitnesses report seeing a man fleeing in a vehicle after the shooting.

The Los Angeles Police Department said it was called to a shooting in the area of Slauson Avenue and Crenshaw Boulevard at 3.20pm (11.20pm BST).

"Three victims were transported to a local hospital where one was pronounced deceased," the force tweeted. "We have no suspect info at this time and will provide more details as they become available."

Hussle was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after arriving. There are no details of any further casualties.

He tweeted moments before his sudden death saying 'having strong enemies is a blessing'.

His fans and colleagues in the music industry have been quick to start paying their tributes.

Hussle's debut studio album Victory Lap was nominated for Best Rap Album at this year's Grammy Awards.

He had long been associated with the Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips, known one of Los Angeles' largest and most infamous street gangs.

Nipsey has worked alongside bug names like Drake, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Ne-Yo and Chamillionaire.

Rihanna tweeted: "Dear God may His spirit Rest In Peace and May You grant divine comfort to all his loved ones! I'm so sorry this happened to you @nipseyhussle."

Drake posted an image of him on Instagram with the caption: "My whole energy is just at a low right now hearing this... You were having the best run."

Fellow rapper Chance Owbum tweeted: "RIP Nipsey man. This is tragic"

He leaves behind two children and girlfriend Lauren London.

Videos circulated on social media showing the American receiving CPR at the scene.

His girlfriend on Friday posted a video of them talking about their relationship during an interview with GQ Magazine.

TMZ are reporting: "Cops are looking for is a black male in his 20s. We're told he approached Nipsey and co. by foot Sunday afternoon and fired multiple shots ... only to depart right after in what we're told appeared to be a nearby waiting vehicle with a separate driver, who our sources say was female."
