A woman was confronted by a burglar coming up the stairs of her house during a terrifying raid in the middle of the day.
Today police launched a hunt for two men who fled with a Nintendo DS console after being rumbled by the home owner after she went to investigate as "she heard noises downstairs" around 1.40pm on Thursday.
Police said the victim was being supported after the "extremely upsetting incident" and urged people to help find the intruders behind the burglary in Pex Hill, Cronton - not far from Leighton Observatory.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "Detectives are appealing for information following a confrontational burglary in Cronton, Widnes yesterday.
"At around 1.40pm, a female resident of a house in Pex Hill, on the border between Merseyside and Cheshire, reported that she heard noises downstairs and was confronted by a man coming up the stairs. Two men are believed to have then left the address.
"A Nintendo DS computer console was stolen and damage was caused to a patio door to gain entry."
CCTV, house-to-house and forensic enquiries are ongoing.
The man seen by the victim is described as white, 6ft tall, of stocky build and wearing dark clothing, a face covering, and a hat.
Detective Sergeant Darren Hankin of Operation Castle, a Merseyside Police response to burglary, said: "We're supporting the victim is what was an extremely upsetting incident.
"For someone to come across an intruder in their home is a horrible experience, and thankfully these men left upon being disturbed."
Witnesses are urged to come forward and anyone who lives in the Pex Hill area are being urged to check their own devices, including any dashcam or doorbell footage and images.
Detective Sergeant Hankin added: “Operation Castle has had good successes in reducing burglary in recent years, ensuring less people are victims of such a traumatic offence, and we’ll continue take action on all information we receive to find those involved put them before the courts.”
