Ninjas in Pyjamas celebrate 25th anniversary with Rainbet-backed CS2 showmatch

Ninjas in Pyjamas is gearing up to celebrate a remarkable 25 years in competitive gaming.

On Nov. 5, the organization will host an exclusive anniversary showmatch sponsored by Rainbet that brings together legendary veterans and today’s top Counter-Strike players. The event will be streamed live at 11am CT on NIP’s official YouTube and Twitch accounts.

This special match will feature the current NIP roster going head-to-head against a lineup of all-time greats from the org’s history, including the famed duo of Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg and Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund. This pair dominated the esports world together, holding the record for the longest winning streak in Counter-Strike history with 87 consecutive victories from August 2012 through April 2013.

Reflecting on the milestone, f0rest said, “I’m really excited to celebrate this huge moment with my old teammates from over ten years ago. We captured a Major title and set a win record that still stands. Now, we’re ready to show we still have what it takes against the incredible talent that represents NIP today.”

Representing the present generation, NIP’s current CS stars, including Rasmus “sjuush” Beck, Artem “r1nkle” Moroz, and Kacper “xKacpersky” Gabara, will compete. IGL Ksenia “vilga” Klyuenkova and Mia “aiM” Cooper from NIP Impact will also participate.

“It’s a real thrill to take on some of the all-time greats,” sjuush said. “We’re here to have fun but also to put on a great show for the fans as we celebrate 25 years of an organisation that has helped shape esports history.”

The showmatch will take place in a best-of-three format, and if it ends with a 2-0 scoreline, you can expect an exciting bonus round where NIP Legends and current players will team up to play on opposite sides.

Only a limited number of fans will get to experience the action live at a watch party hosted at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in Stockholm. F0rest will attend and stream from the venue.
