A nine-year-old girl remains in hospital today after being hit by a car in Larkhall on Wednesday afternoon.
Emergency services raced to Hareleeshill Road in the town after the accident, which happened shortly after the end of the school day at around 3.30pm.
Ambulance crews attended and the schoolgirl was taken to hospital for treatment, where she remains as a precaution.
Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The road was closed for three hours while police and medics dealt with the incident.
A Police Scotland spokeswomansaid: "Officers were called to Hareleeshill Road, Larkhall, around 3.30pm on Wednesday, June 9, following a crash involving a nine-year-old pedestrian.
"She was taken to University Hospital Wishaw by ambulance.
"The road was closed for three hours while officers carried out enquiries."
