Nine-year-old child hit by car near primary school in Perthshire

A child has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car near a primary school in Perthshire.

The nine-year-old was struck in Broich Road in Crieff near to a primary school at 3.30pm on Wednesday afternoon.

A witness described a man administrating first aid to the child.

He was rushed to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

The extent of his injuries have not been confirmed.

Traffic has been diverted and the A85 closed and traffic was heavy in both directions, according to Traffic Scotland's Twitter.

Police Scotland confirmed they attended the incident involving a nine-year-old.

A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service also said: “We received a call at 3.25pm to attend a road traffic incident on Broich Road, Crieff.

"We dispatched an ambulance to the scene and a child under 10 was transported to Ninewells Hospital.
