Nine year old boy injured as car mounts pavement and crashes in West Lothian town

A nine-year-old boy had to be treated by paramedics after being injured when a car mounted a pavement and crashed.

The accident happened around 4.50pm yesterday on Whitehill Road near the junction with Yule Terrace.

A dark coloured Vauxhall Insignia mounted the pavement next to four pedestrians and then drove off.

One of the pedestrians, a nine-year-old boy, sustained minor injuries and was treated by ambulance staff at the scene. No one else was injured.

Enquiries to trace the car are ongoing and Road Policing officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Sergeant Scott Kirkpatrick said: “We are asking for anyone who was in the area around the time of the crash, or anyone with information about the vehicle involved, to please get in touch.

“We are also asking anyone with dash-cam footage that could assist with our ongoing enquiries to establish the full circumstances to contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 2329 of Thursday, 3 November, 2022.
