Stuff a Bus NI, Translink’s iconic Christmas campaign, proudly supported by us at Belfast Live and U105, has gone virtual this year to help keep everyone safe.
In aid of Salvation Army and St Vincent de Paul, the appeal has helped thousands of families to date, and the need is expected to be even greater this year – another devastating effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Although Translink’s big pink double decker bus may be empty this Christmas, please don’t let any children experience an empty Christmas.
We’re asking you to join us and help raise £50,000 so that toys can be purchased by the charities and delivered safely to thousands of families ahead of Christmas Eve.
Preparation is key!
To get your creative juices flowing on how you can fundraise with your family, friends and colleagues we’ve got nine new ways to support the campaign below – all of them are safe, fun and festive!
- Christmas looks a bit different this year, but we can still celebrate! Why not host a virtual Christmas Party via Zoom?
- Get in the festive spirit by running a sponsored day such as a ‘Christmas Jumper day’ to show-off in work or if you’re working from home. Colleagues donate to enter and everyone votes on the best jumper!
- A donation in lieu of Christmas cards
- Host a virtual festive coffee morning or bake-off with your friends, family or team – we can almost smell the gingerbread…
- Brave the cold and do a sponsored socially-distanced dip in the sea (and nominate a friend to do it too!)
- Host a virtual Christmas Quiz (yes, another quiz...) in aid of Stuff A Bus NI
- Donate your commute to the cause if you’re working from home
- Set your own challenge and nominate a friend: Run a 5k, complete 50,000 steps in one week, or climb Everest on your staircase – the possibilities are endless!
- Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best: give someone the gift of a Stuff a Bus NI donation for Christmas!
