Nine tragic deaths in Nottinghamshire to be examined by coroner

A coroner is to examine the deaths of nine people after opening and adjourning inquests into their separate and unconnected deaths.

At Nottingham's Council House, Gordon Clow, assistant coroner for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, gave brief details into the individual deaths across Nottinghamshire.

Full inquests will take place at later dates.

He began with the death of Tammy Mary Louise Watkins, 36, and detailed when she was born, the date of her death on June 6, 2021, and that she died at Bassetlaw District General Hospital in Worksop.

A post mortem examination was carried out and the provisional cause of death is outstanding at this time.

Mr Clow said: "Information suggests she was detained by the Mental Health Act at the time of her death and may have died at her own hand".

He expressed his condolences to her family and friends.

A further hearing will be heard at a later date.
