'Nine police cars and dog unit' swoop on street fight in Dundee

Cops swamped a Dundee street after a man was allegedly spotted with a weapon during a street fight.

Emergency services raced to Yeaman's Lane around 9.50am after an altercation between two men.

It was thought one of the men was in possession of a weapon, sparking a major police response.

A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

It is understood around nine police vehicles responded to the early morning incident alongside officers from the police dog unit.

Emergency vehicles parked along the middle of the road as cops dealt with the altercation.

Police enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Yeaman's Lane, Dundee, around 9.50am on Friday 10 September 2021, to reports of an altercation between two men, with one of them possibly in possession of a weapon.

"A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are continuing."
