Nine players suspended by RFL's Match Review Panel

Leeds Rhinos half-back Luke Gale has been suspended for two matches after being found guilty of making contact with a match official.

Gale was deemed to have made contact with Chris Kendall in the 25th minute of Leeds' defeat to Warrington Wolves on Sunday evening, with the Rugby Football League's Match Review Panel deeming that Gale was guilty of making 'deliberate or reckless physical contact with a match official'.

It means he will miss Leeds' upcoming game against former club Castleford Tigers on Friday night, while Tigers youngster Sam Hall will also be suspended for that game after receiving a one-match ban for a dangerous throw. Leeds captain Matt Prior was handed a caution for dangerous contact.

Meanwhile, Wigan duo Oliver Partington and Brad Singleton have been suspended for two and three matches respectively after their part in the mass brawl that marred the Warriors' win over Leigh Centurions on Sunday afternoon.

Leigh duo Rob Butler and Jack Ashworth have also been handed two-match bans for their participation in the incident.

Elsewhere, Warrington duo Daryl Clark and Jack Hughes will miss this weekend's game against Hull. Hughes received a one-match suspension for dangerous contact, while Clark has also been banned for one game after being found guilty of a tripping offence. Hull's Jordan Johnstone will also miss that game after receiving a one-match ban for dangerous contact.
