Nine people rushed to hospital following horror fall at GAA parade in Enniskerry village

Nine people have been injured following a horror fall during a GAA celebration this evening.

Those involved were celebrating a local Junior B GAA county final victory in Enniskerry, Co Wicklow on top of a lorry at the time.

The extent of the injuries are not yet known, though multiple injuries were reported.

Footage has since emerged showing the celebrants holding a trophy and jumping up and down before falling.

A garda spokesman confirmed that the injured were rushed to Tallaght and St Vincents Hospital for treatment.

He said: "Gardaí at Enniskerry are investigating an incident in which a group of young men were injured when they fell from the trailer of an articulated lorry.

"The incident occurred in Enniskerry Village this evening at approximately 6.30pm.

"It’s understood up to nine people were injured and removed from the scene by ambulance to Tallaght and St Vincents Hospitals for treatment. Their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

"The road was closed for short time but has since reopened. Enquiries are ongoing.
