Four people have suffered "potentially life-changing" injuries after a car crashed into a bus stop in central London and collided with a crowd.
Seven pedestrians were taken to hospital following the incident, which happened in Aldwych around 3.30am on Sunday.
The Met Police confirmed on Monday that four people remained in hospital with "potentially life changing injuries".
The driver - who was also taken to hospital as a precaution - was arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving.
He has been bailed until late January, the Met confirmed on Monday.
The incident is not being treated as terror-related, say police.
Police officers and paramedics rushed to the scene of the crash around 3.35am on Sunday.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said it sent a "large" number of resources to the scene, including eight ambulances and a trauma team.
They confirmed eight people were treated at the scene. Three people were taken to major trauma centres, and the five others to local hospitals.
Photos from the scene of the crash showed a black Range Rover resting against a bus stop, which had been taped off by police.
A traffic light appeared to have been badly damaged in the incident.
