Nine of the best historic spots to visit in and around Glasgow

As January begins with high hopes of filling our days with exercise, we may as well make it a bit more exciting.

Instead of a drab stroll, take advantage of Glasgow's many historic stops both in and around the city, and get a bit of fresh air.

It was the 6th century when St Mungo built his church on the Molendinar Burn, and birthed the city of Glasgow; so it's no suprise that in the many years since then the area has built up a collection of monuments that tell Glasgow's tales.
