World Vegan Day: GBK are giving away nine hundred vegan jackfruit burgers today

Guilt-free food is about to get even more guilt-free as GBK have announced there will be hundreds of vegan burgers up for grabs today — that won't cost a penny.

To celebrate World Vegan Day, which falls on Thursday November 1 this year, the burger giants will give away 900 plant-based patties.

The burger in question is the Jack-in-a-bun, which features a butternut squash and quinoa patty, beetroot mayonnaise, Korean pulled jackfruit, pickled onions and rocket, all sandwiched between a sourdough bun.

Customers simply need to say "Jack on the house’" at the till to take advantage of the publicity stunt.

There is, of course, a catch. The giveaway takes place across the country, meaning each GBK restaurant is offering just 10 free burgers — so heading to a quieter branch is your best bet to grab one, especially as they'll be handed out on a first come first served basis, with one per customer.

Jay James, Head of Marketing for GBK said: “We want everyone to be able to enjoy incredible burgers at GBK, meat-eaters, veggies and vegans alike.”
