Nine Bulls players now out as Zach LaVine enters COVID protocols

The COVID outbreak surrounding the Chicago Bulls just continues to grow.

On Sunday, Bulls All-Star Zach LaVine entered the league’s health and safety protocols, first reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. LaVine now joins DeMar DeRozan, Ayo Dosunmu, Javonte Green, Coby White, Derrick Jones Jr., Matt Thomas, Troy Brown, and Stanley Johnson in protocols.

The Bulls now have nine players in the league’s health and safety protocols, which could soon lead to a postponement in games if the outbreak continues. Per Wojnarowski, the league rules state that Chicago needs eight eligible players to play.

The Bulls signed Stanley Johnson under the hardship waiver, but Johnson landed in protocols after starting the last two games for the Bulls.

Chicago’s next game is on Tuesday against the Detroit Pistons.
