Nina Nesbitt hits back at trolls who give her grief for getting first Covid vaccine

Nina Nesbitt has hit back at trolls after they left nasty comments on a snap she posted on Instagram of her getting her first Covid jab.

The Livingston -born singer was delighted when she got her first dose of the vaccine and even posted a snap on her social media, but many of her fans sent her abuse in the comments and in her private messages.

In her original post, Nina can be seen with her sleeve rolled up and a taped piece of cotton on her arm.

She said: "Vaxxed, waxed and ready for new trax! grateful for science and the absolute queen of a nurse who had bright pink scrubs on, we were a matching pair."

Later on, Nina took to her Instagram stories to say that she had been sent abuse.

She wrote: "Are people really that mad about me, an adult, making my own choice (THAT DOESN'T AFFECT YOU BTW!!!), sharing my excitement about getting the vaccine lol have a word.

She added: "I never get why people give their negative opinion on things that literally do not affect them at all."

In another story, she said: "*me deleting conspiracy theorists from my post* my 2021 has 0 room for negative vibes."

Later on, the 26-year-old shared a negative message she received, it read: "Nah Nina, this ain't it. I support you and love your music but those refusing/disagreeing with this vaccine roll out does NOT make them a conspiracy theorist. Please wake up."

Nina posted it with the caption: "Ofcourse, each to their own - but when people are commenting that I've been chipped by Bill Gates I think it's fair to call that a conspiracy theory."

And many of her fans praised her for posting about getting her jab.

One wrote: "Great effort, great advertising for what's best for all and helping to save lives. Thank you Nina."

Another added: "Shot girl summer here we come!"

While one said: "Yessss. Congratulations, setting a great example."

And one wrote: "Vaccinated Queens are the elite."

Adults aged 18 to 39 are currently being offered for their first dose in some areas of Glasgow amid concerns over the so-called Indian variant.

The city has seen a recent spike in cases, with the seven-day infection rate per 100,000 soaring to 104.6 - almost three times higher than the national average.
