Nikola Vlasic excited to return to former team when West Ham take on Everton at Goodison Park

Nikola Vlasic's time at Everton was not a roaring success with the move failing to pan out as the then 19-year-old hoped, but the midfielder has some fond memories of his time at Goodison Park.

After an unsuccessful first season at the club, Vlasic was sent on a season-long loan to CSKA Moscow before making the move permanent after an impressive campaign.

Following two more years with the Russian outfit, Vlasic returned to the Premier League this summer with West Ham and is excited for his reunion with his former side.

Ahead of Sunday's clash Vlasic has reminisced about his time on Merseyside and warned his West Ham teammates about what to expect at Goodison Park.

"I have good memories with Everton, but now I hope I will go there with West Ham and we will win this game," he said. "It’s always good memories and a good feeling to play there.

"Goodison Park is a difficult place to go. The fans are really loud, and they are helping their all the game so it’ll be hard for us, but I think all the players here are used to that atmosphere. It’s hard at every away game, so there shouldn’t be any problems with that."

Last time out West Ham fell to an injury time defeat to Brentford and Vlasic says everyone at the club is keen to put that behind them and bounce back this weekend.

"After the last game we lost against Brentford, I think we need a good game and to win three points to be back on a good track," he said.

Vlasic has started three matches for West Ham and made a further three appearances off the bench but the Croatian international has admitted he is still learning about his new team and settling into life in London, and promises there is more to come from him.

"I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far," he added. "But I think I need to get more used to the club, the players and everything around the city, so I think it’ll be even better in the future."
