Nikola Vlasic agent sends Everton message as return rumours increase

Nikola Vlasic's agent hasn’t ruled out a return to Everton for his client - but insists no contact has been made by Goodison Park chiefs.

Ronald Koeman signed Vlasic from Hajduk Split in August 2017, after impressing in two Europa League fixtures against the Blues.

But soon after his Goodison arrival, Koeman was sacked, with David Unsworth serving as caretaker manager before Sam Allardyce took over on a permanent basis.

The winger made just seven Premier League starts in his one and only season with the club, with Marco Silva then replacing Allardyce as Blues boss.

But having failed to impress new boss Silva at the start of the 2018/19 season, the Croatia international spent the season on loan with CSKA Moscow.

Scoring eight goals in his 31 appearances for the club in all competitions, Vlasic joined the Russian side on a permanent basis the following summer for a fee believed to be £14m.

The 23-year-old has been a huge success at CSKA and reports in Russia earlier this week linked the winger with a return to Goodison this summer.

But while no official move has been made by the Blues, it appears that Vlasic would be open to a return to Merseyside should he be offered the chance.

“Everton has not contacted me about Nikola, and this is not a question at the moment. But who knows what the future holds. Everything is possible,” his agent told Russian publication Soccer.

While speaking back in 2019, Vlasic admitted the managerial changes that occurred during his time at the club did not help him settle.

He said: "There were a lot of changes at Everton and I didn't find my place there. It's always hard there because if you don’t take your chance the first time, then it’s hard to get another.

"Here, I have a chance every time. Even if I play badly in one game, I know I will have another chance.

"It’s the best thing that could have happened for me, this trust that I have at CSKA from the coach, the staff, the players, everybody. This is the main thing for a player to play in a good way."
