Nikola Mirotic won't speculate on future with Bulls

If Nikola Mirotic is obsessing about his future come Monday _ the first day the Bulls forward is eligible to be traded _ the veteran is hiding it pretty well.

Following the Bulls' shootaround in advance of Saturday night's game against the Pistons, Mirotic claimed not to know that Monday could be a significant date in his life.

"Thanks for the information," Mirotic said after the media informed him of the significance of the day. "That's probably the biggest information that I need to know."

While it's likely Mirotic is being coy, he said, "to be honest I don't listen too much to what is going on outside. I just focus on what is going on here and up to my last day try to be the best player possible and be professional and help this team to be able to win."

When it comes to his future, Mirotic said it is, "good so far. I'm standing here now where I want to be and playing after my injury and I just want to have fun playing basketball. I'm not worried what's going to happen. If something is going to happen it's going to happen for everybody, me (and the) Bulls. Sometimes you can't control some things but you can control being a professional and trying to do your best."

When asked directly if he wanted to remain with the Bulls, a team that includes Bobby Portis, his teammate who landed a punch that sent him to the hospital in October and caused him to miss 23 consecutive games, Mirotic said his focus remains on Saturday's contest.

"I want to win (Saturday night), that's all I want to do," Mirotic said. "But I'm happy in Chicago. I'm obviously very happy and my family, too, we all love Chicago and we are more than thankful for the opportunity to be here. That's all I can tell you now."

Mirotic will return to the Bulls' lineup against the Pistons after missing two games with a stomach virus.
