CHICAGO _ It's time to start taking Nikola Mirotic's predictions more seriously. Particularly if he's going to back them up as he did Monday night at the United Center.
Almost single-handedly flipping the finish to the Bulls' sixth straight victory since he made his season debut with defense, Mirotic and the Bulls rallied to beat the 76ers 117-115 in a wild one.
Trailing 107-99 with 3 minutes, 49 seconds remaining, the Bulls rallied to win the type of game young, rebuilding teams are supposed to lose.
The Bulls trailed 107-101 when Lauri Markkanen _ just 3-for-10 to that point in his first game back from missing three with back spasms _ buried a 3-pointer. Mirotic blocked Dario Saric's shot. Kris Dunn, who had 22 points and six assists, followed with a 3-pointer in transition. Mirotic stole the ball from J.J. Redick and followed with a traditional three-point play.
Just like that, the Bulls led 110-107.
After Dunn buried two jumpers around scores from Saric, who had 27 points, Mirotic added another 3-pointer for good measure.
"When we study, 'What does a modern-day player look like?' " 76ers coach Brett Brown said. "It looks like him."
