Luka Doncic is getting his first mass-released personalized shoe since joining Jordan Brand. It isn’t the signature shoe that many are waiting for, though. Instead, his first shoe is an Air Jordan 1 Mid colorway with a design unique to him.
They are part of a newly released footwear pack by Nike that celebrates a player’s pregame ritual. The upper features white leather with a “cool, tranquil palette of greens and violets” serving as accents, according to a release by Nike. The heels of the shoes alternately read “Breathe & Center” and “Center & Breathe.”
Doncic officially signed with Jordan Brand in December for an undisclosed amount. In the months prior to deal, the Dallas Mavericks’ young star had tried out a number of different shoes, including various models by Nike and Under Armour. In the weeks leading up to signing with Jordan, he wore the brand almost exclusively both on and off the court.
The Jordan Jumpman Diamond in both Low and Mid and the Air Jordan XXXIV, each in various colorways, became his go-to footwear for games. Some even featured his personal logo on the tongue.
Doncic took to social media earlier in the week to tease the marketing campaign for his Air Jordan 1 Mid “Mindfulness.” They release April 30.
NBA players De’Aaron Fox of the Sacramento Kings, Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers and Brittney Griner of the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury also have featured designs as part of the “Pregame Pack,” all of which will be available through House of Hoops by Foot Locker as well as on Nike’s website.
