Nike release new Space Jam range ahead of the release of 'A New Legacy'

It's been 25 years since the release of Space Jam - now doesn't that make you feel old?

The film starred Michael Jordan in the lead role, tasked with spearheading the 'Tune Squad' to victory over the Monstars, pumped full of the talents they'd stolen from other 90s basketball stars including Charles Barkley and Patrick Ewing.

Few could have imagined America would produce a basketball talent that could rival Michael Jordan's legacy so soon.

But just one season after hanging up his Air Jordan shoes, a rookie by the LeBron James was selected by his hometown team, the Cleveland Cavaliers.

With four NBA Championships to his name - still two shy of Jordan's six - James is without question the new face of the sport.

It makes sense then that when the Tune Squad is in trouble again, it is LeBron who they turn to.

Space Jam: A New Legacy premiered in Los Angeles earlier this week and is available now in theatres worldwide.

In celebration of the release, Nike have released a new Space Jam-inspired fashionwear range.

It includes fun, colourful basketball vests from the Tune Squad, as well as their movie rivals the 'Goon Squad'.

There are also jackets, t-shirts, caps and even trainers that are inspired by famous Loony Tunes pairings such as Sylvester and Tweetyor Bugs and Marvin The Martian.

You can click here to shop the Space Jam range on the Nike website, where you'll also find plenty of official merch from Space Jam OG Michael Jordan.
