Nike release first hands-free trainers that can be put on and taken off with ease

Sportswear giant Nike has launched its first hands-free trainers that can be put on and taken off in seconds.

With no fiddly laces, the shoes are ideal for those with different accessibility needs. They're also a great choice for students or parents who need to get ready in a rush.

Whilst they've been designed with adaptive athletes in mind, the campaign is fronted by Paralympian champion fencer Bebe Vio.

Speaking of the hands-free trainers, Vio said: "Usually I spend so much time to get in my shoes. With the Nike GO FlyEase, I just need to put my feet in and jump on it.

"The shoes are a new kind of technology, not only for adaptive athletes but for everyone's real life."

The Nike GO FlyEase shoe looks just like a regular trainer, but has some unique hinges inside. It looks pretty impressive, too.

The hinges enable the shoe to be "secure in fully open and fully closed states”.

Each trainer is also fitted with a flexible “tensioner”, making it easier to remove the shoe without needing to use your hands.

The hands-free sneakers, which are rumoured to cost $120 (£104.95), come in three colourways: white and green, black and crimson and black and blue.

They will go on sale from February 15 for “select Nike members” before being launched for other shoppers later in 2021.
