Nike LeBron 16 “Medicine Ball” inspired by Bo Jackson drops this Friday

Bo Jackson is more than just the greatest player in the history of Tecmo Bowl. He’s also responsible for a classic sneaker that has inspired the latest iteration of the Nike LeBron 16. Channeling the iconic Jackson signature from 1988, the “Medicine Ball” Air Trainer 3, the Nike LeBron 16 “Medicine Ball” is scheduled to hit retail shelves this Friday according to Kicks on Fire.

The LeBron 16 “Medicine Ball” features a white, midnight navy and ginger colorway. The inside is branded with “Bo Knows” on the insole and also includes perforated white leather on the tongue and heel. On the lateral side panel is a navy blue leather swoosh. The sneaker also features a midfoot strap as a tribute to the Air Trainer 3. According to reports, the sneaker will retail for $185.

With LeBron now eliminated from the playoffs for the first time since 2005, it seems appropriate that he’d be dropping a training shoe. We can most likely expect him to debut this sneaker during an Instagram workout video in the weeks to come. But regardless of when James rocks a pair for the first time, expect the “Medicine Ball” to do well in stores. Any Bo Jackson mashup usually leads to good things and this latest offering from Nike looks to be no exception.
