Nike LeBron 16 Low ‘Agimat’ inspired by Filipino folklore set to drop on August 31

Titan, a Filipino-based retailer and champion of basketball sneaker culture, has teamed up with Nike to design the latest release of the LeBron 16 Low. This sneaker is inspired by Filipino folklore and speaks to the mantra that the strongest warriors make the best kings. The colorway has been dubbed, “Agimat” which refers to a small jewel used to ward off evil and pays homage to an old belief in the Philippines that the best fighters have a duty to lead like kings.

According to Sneaker News, this offering from the extensive collection of LeBron 16’s is expected to hit Nike.com and select retailers on August 31.  The sleek navy blue design with a golden swoosh is also decorated with special symbols throughout the sneaker that pay tribute to both tribal history of the island as well as LeBron’s accomplishments throughout his career. There are Manilla and Akron-inspired badges, as well, saluting the basketball capital of the Philippines as well as James hometown in Ohio.

As an accent to the navy colorway that primarily encompasses the shoe, two other shades of blue can be seen on the midfoot stitching and the heel. There is also a fist holding a lightning bolt on the left heel with LeBron’s logo on the right heel.
