Nihalani’s going away gift? Jacqueline-Sidharth’s kiss in A Gentleman to get tr...

Pahlaj Nihalani may have been sacked as the chief of Central Board of Film Certification but his legacy seems well alive. In a bid to keep sanskaars alive in Bollywood, the censor board is reported to have ordered some cuts in Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez’s A Gentleman.

A source told DNA that the makers have been asked to shorten a kiss between the film’s lead couple which drags on ‘unnecessarily’. “The lead pair’s kiss just went on and on unnecessarily, just like the smooch in the James Bond film and Ranbir Kapoor-Anushka Sharma in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. We’ve asked them to take it easy,” the source said.

The source also talked about how the film is not keeping in tune with its title. “The film is titled A Gentleman, but the hero seems to forget his manners while kissing,” they said.

The film, by director duo Raj and DK, is reported to have one of the longest kisses ever filmed in Bollywood. DNA’s report further says that the kiss needs to be trimmed by 70% to get a U/A certificate and also remove some expletives in English language.

However, the film’s trailer which was released in July, already shows bits of the scene. A Gentleman releases on August 25.
