Taoiseach Micheal Martin has said the Government will not be afraid to intervene and put the breaks on the lockdown reopening should the situation deteriorate quickly.
Mr Martin last night announced a comprehensive plan for reopening the country in the coming months prompting much relief among people across the country.
When the Taoiseach addressed the nation back in March, we learned that a number of things would be considered for the start of May if things stayed steady in April - the majority of which were ratified by Government last night.
Now, we have a fair idea of what the end of June onwards could look like if things remain steady over the next few weeks.
Nightclubs
Micheál Martin raised a laugh during the press conference after his announcement when pressed by the Irish Mirror about whether nightclubs would be reopening soon.
After he insisted that he ''didn’t think he'd make it to Coppers anytime soon", Leo Varadkar interjected
"Coppers has a large outdoor area and a nice balcony, so .. we might get there yet, Taoiseach”
But that's the main point in the Government's updated Covid plan for ''later in the year''.
We can almost smell the 3am Zaytoon from here.
Socialising in bars
What this means in laymans terms is indoor pints.
The way the Government phrase this is 'indoor hospitality' - restaurants, bars, nightclubs and casinos.
This is all contingent on the situation staying stable over the next few weeks.
Crowds/mass gatherings at sporting events or similar
Ireland failed to hold onto it's hosting of Euro 2020 games as the Government couldn't guarantee UEFA the possibility of having 12,000 people in the Aviva Stadium for the end of June.
But sports fans will be happy to learn that a return for spectators at games is in the pipeline from that date.

Furthermore, it is believed that the Government are monitoring how other outdoor events like concerts and festivals are going in other countries.
Indoor team/group sports including matches, training and exercise classes
Outdoor sports returns next week to the delight of many.
Gyms are returning on June 7 but only for single-person exercise.
Later in that month though is when the Government say they'll address the potential for indoor team sports and group exercise classes to resume.

International travel

Summer holidays are off the cards - but a mid-term trip around the continent or even across to America is very much a possibility for Autumn or Winter.
Ryanair have brought an initiative in where they offer half price PCR Covid tests for its passengers to help battle the virus
And the Government is working on the following for later in the year:
- a plan for an enhanced higher and further education on-campus experience for the new academic year
- proposals on the holding of a limited number of pilot live events for arts, culture, sport and live entertainment (indoor and outdoor). This is to inform the safe reopening of these activities and events when the public health situation allows
- preparation for the safe reopening of cinemas and theatres in June subject to public health advice
