Nuit Blanche, held in Paris this year on October 4, is one of the most famous all-night “White Night” festivals. Not only are arts venues opened up throughout the night but installations and sculptures illuminate the streets, making the urban landscape a night-time playground for citizens.

An array of other cities around the world celebrate their own “white nights” throughout the year, including St Petersburg, Melbourne and Leeds. Like Paris, Toronto will be celebrating Nuit Blanche this year on October 4. On October 10, Berlin kicks off its Festival of Lights. And the Prague Light Festival starts on October 16.

We’d love to see your pictures of cities lit up at night – whether you’re celebrating Nuit Blanche, other light festivals or simply want to share your snaps of illuminated cities at night. Share your contributions with GuardianWitness and we will feature some of the best on Guardian Cities. Just click on the blue ‘Contribute’ button, or if you’re out and about you can download the free GuardianWitness app for smartphones.
