Nigerian Siamese Twins 'Hassana and Hasina' Arrive in Riyadh to Be Separated

The Nigerian Siamese twins arrive in Riyadh with their parents (SPA)

The Nigerian Siamese twins "Hassana and Hasina" arrived Thursday in Riyadh, accompanied by their parents, coming from the Republic of Nigeria via an air medical evacuation plane.

Upon arrival, the twins were transferred to King Abdullah Specialist Children Hospital at the Ministry of National Guard to study their case and the possibility of conducting their separation operation.

This is in implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Advisor at the Royal Court, Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KS relief), and head of the medical team, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, thanked King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their support of the Saudi program for separating Siamese twins.

He stressed that these initiatives embody the Kingdom's humanitarian efforts, which spread across the whole world.

Saudi Arabia has superior medical expertise and capabilities, which placed it at the forefront of countries in the field of separating conjoined twins, Al-Rabeeah added.

For their part, the twins’ parents expressed the feelings of joy and happiness that overwhelmed them since they heard of King Salman's decision, to whom they extended their thanks and gratitude.
