Nigerian held for man's murder in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: A Nigerian was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly murdering a 43-year-old man by hitting his head against a wall over a rent-related row near Hoskote.

Daniel Chinazor Alaso alias Bobby, 36, a resident of Mallimakanapura, allegedly attacked Shivakumar who worked as a facilities manager for his landlord, Bharath, on Monday. Shivakumar was a resident of Mallimakanapura and from Molakalmuru, Chitradurga district. Shivakumar used to collect rent and maintain water and other services at a building owned by Bharath.

Bobby came to India 10 years ago on a tourist visa and stayed in the KR Puram area even after his visa period expired. He recently shifted to a room in Bharath’s building buut was irregular in paying rent. On Sunday, Bharath asked him to vacate and sent him out of the building.

On Monday at 3pm, Shivakumar noticed that Bobby was back in the room and alerted Bharath, who again warned Bobby. In a fit of rage, Bobby attacked Shivakumar and fled. tnn
