Nigeria: Shrinking Goronyo dam threatens livelihood of millions

Nigeria: Shrinking Goronyo dam threatens livelihood of millions

The lives and livelihoods of two million people in Nigeria are under threat because of a lack of water.

Levels in the Goronyo dam basin, which provides water for farmers, fishermen and families, have dropped dramatically. In the past year, the water levels have dropped to just 10 percent of its capacity, forcing authorities to ration water to homes.

Al Jazeera's Ahmed Idris reports from Goronyo.
