A court in Niger has decided that Boussada Ben Ali, managing editor of the Niamey-based newspaper L'Action must remain in detention until at least next week. He was arrested six days ago for "disseminating false information". His paper alleged that part of the £180m funds for a contract awarded by the finance minister was diverted from an oil agreement between Niger and China. (Via IFEX)
