Nigella Lawson brutally mocked after sharing picture of very rare steak dinner

Legendary TV cook Nigella Lawson was mercilessly mocked after proudly showing off a very rare steak she had just served up.

The 62-year-old took to Instagram to share a picture of a dish she was thrilled with - an Aberdeen Angus tomahawk with green sauce and sides of new potatoes and salad.

She thought she had prepared a lip-smacking meal, but it didn't whet everyone's appetite.

Some told her the steak was 'so rare it could be heard mooing'.

The cut of beef was very pink - and her followers were quick to tell Nigella exactly what they thought of it.

One teased: "A good vet could save it."

Another questioned the cooking queen by asking: "Did you forget to cook it?"

A third poked: "Let us know when it's cooked."

But nothing quite divides us like food - and for others, it was perfection on a plate.

One followers suggested she called a vet to keep the cow alive (Instagram/ @nigellalawson)

One follower told her: "Wow! That gives me inspiration for dinner tomorrow! Thank you! However, mine will not turn out as perfect as yours."

Another said: "Can you please say how you cooked it to have this way? Thank you. It looks delicious."

Nigella last year tried to go vegan for a few weeks - but soon gave up as she "doesn't see the point" in it.

She ticked off some after stating that humans should eat meat as the "have the teeth for it".

The star admitted she didn't last long when she tried to live a vegan lifestyle (BBC WS)

Speaking to The Independent, the star said she couldn't see how a plant-based diet is better for you.

She said: "As far as I’m concerned I want to eat proper food, and I don’t want to lecture anyone because I feel, well, I cling to the thing that we have the teeth for meat and so it’s natural for us to want to eat it.

"I know it’s an argument that a lot of vegans disagree with… I respect that position but I feel that I’m not ready."

Nigella did however concede that she would be happy to cut down on her meat intake, but said she felt run down when she went vegan.
