Nigella horrifies fans with 'heart attack' chocolate cake they claim could 'kill them'

Nigella Lawson left fans in shock after sharing a recipe for her chocolate and peanut butter cake with one person saying the TV chef is "trying to kill me".

The 60-year-old chef returned to our screens with her latest series, Nigella's Cook, Eat, Repeat, on BBC Two, showcasing innovative recipes including lamb shanks, fish finger bhorta and noodles, as well as sharing her favourite kitchen hacks.

But it was her sweet treat recipe that had fans worried for their health, reports Daily Star.

Nigella said: "The cake itself is dark, damp and divinely chocolatey, but it’s the icing that truly makes it, as my daughter says, ‘the cake of dreams’; even my son, who is not a peanut butter fan, adores it.

"I’ve yet to find anyone who doesn’t."

But many who feared that the delicious-looking treat was super unhealthy, took to Twitter to comment.

“Omg #Nigella is trying to kill me with this cake!!! Sugar, butter, peanut butter - and cream!!?? Heart attack on a plate, but sounds great!” one person wrote.

A second posted: "That cake should come with a warning #nigella."

"Nigella's making a chocolate and peanut butter cake. It looks utter filth" wrote another brutal fan.

A viewer joked: "I have a sweet tooth, but I'm beginning to think Nigella is trying to kill us."

And: "That ‘cake’ is basically 95% icing #Nigella #CookEatRepeat" penned a fifth.

But others loved the look of her creation, as one said: "Eat your heart out, total lushness. I know what I'll be baking this weekend."

Another said: "4 words that made my day...Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake," while a third added: "The chocolate peanut butter celebration cake looks delish! Shall be attempting it before long :)."

Nigella calls it a 'beautiful monster' (BBC WS)

On the show Nigella says: "Everyone needs a special occasion cake... and this one is mine.

"What I think is crucial if you're going to rely on something for everything birthday and every other important celebration is however spectacular it tastes or looks, it must also be stress-free and simple to make.

"My chocolate peanut butter cake fits the bill entirely."
